The National Institute of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (NIHERST) conducted a household survey on the Public Perception of Science during the period May/June, 2012.

This study is the second of its kind to be conducted by NIHERST as a similar study was undertaken in 2005. The empirical results of this study will measure changes in attitudes towards science overtime and also facilitate and inform the development of science policy, communication and popularisation.

A representative sample of approximately two thousand and four hundred (2,400) persons from the various administrative districts of Trinidad and Tobago were surveyed.

The data are being captured for analysis and upon completion a report on the results of the survey will be published.
