The S&T Statistical Unit’s main function is to collect, compile and disseminate statistics in the field of Science and Technology (S&T).  Science and technological activities are closely concerned with the generation, advancement and application of knowledge in all fields of science and technology.  These include such activities as research and development (R&D), scientific and technical education and training (STET), and scientific and technological services (STS).

The data collected by the Unit are obtained from primary sources through national surveys, as well as secondary sources through administrative records and data collected by the national statistical office.  For a list of reports published by the Unit refer to Surveys & Publications.
