The NIHERST Fab Lab will be hosting a series of VIRTUAL activities in commemoration of World Creativity and Innovation Week (WCIW). WCIW is a global celebration held annually from April 15 to 21. The last day of the celebration is the United Nations designated World Creativity and Innovation Day (WCID). During this time, the world is invited to embrace the idea that creativity and innovation is essential for harnessing the economic potential of nations. Our commemoration of WCIW is aligned to NIHERST’s mandate: “to enhance the innovative, creative and entrepreneurial capabilities of the general population”.

A FREE IP clinic for the animation sector based on NIHERST's database from the Sectoral Innovation Mapping (SIM) of the Animation Industry in Trinidad and Tobago, which was conducated in 2018.

3D Modelling and 3D Printing Workshop
Online workshop on 3D Modelling using TinkerCAD and creation of an item using the 3D printer; creations to be collected at the Fab Lab.

Digital Design and Laser Cutting Workshop
Online workshop on digital design using Inkscape and creation of an item using the laser cutter; creations to be collected at the Fab Lab.

The IP Clinic being hosted on April 15th is dedicated to the Animation Industry of Trinidad and Tobago and their collaborative partners. And the activities scheduled from April 16th to 21st are opened to all nationals to Trinidad and Tobago.

NIHERST's our commemoration of this week is intended to pique interest and build capacity in the use of the Fab Lab to design, create, invent, prototype and solve problems. We also hope to encourage enrolment in the global Fab Lab network and enable Trinidad and Tobago's population to explore creative, innovative and entrepreneurial undertakings.
